As mastodon is more of an twitter alternative it would be better to have a news column like Timeline where people can Check out news directly. People use twitter mainly for news so having news column where we can pull content by RSS feed and Sort out based on news provider and category which admin have added and also can be done manually if that News site have an account on mastodon and aslo people can talk about that directly there a trending news section. Alot can be discussed over this.

You already can do this by creating a bot and add it to automatic follow after registration list.

I wanted to have a Column for that Bot seems more like an spam They dont really help.
